Au Pair job description

Our main objective for having an au pair is first of all to get assistance with day to day issues in and around the house. This includes normal housekeeping. We have a maid once a week who does the "heavy"cleaning. Secondly we expect from our au pair some help in looking after the kids.

Family's Message to Au Pair

We are a Norwegian Swiss couple living in Stavanger on the south west coast of Norway. We moved into our new house in June 2008. So far we have three boys 6 (Markus), 3.5 (Viktor) and 1.5 (Lorenz) years. We expect our fourth child at the beginning of December. Our house is very well suited for an au pair with private bedroom and bathroom available, both located in a separate part of the house. The au pair will have access to a car, but busses will also easily bring you to the city (8 min.). We like to have visitors and a "dynamic" house, this however requires an extra effort in making our guests feel at home. There will be plenty of time for the au pair to spend time on her own and explore the city. There are normally no duties during evenings or at weekends - meaning she is free to do her own things – or spend time in her room which has both a TV and a PC connection. At the same time – we are very much interested to find an au pair that will become a part of our family, and that she will enjoy spending time with us also outside the normal day to day events. Our family is bilingual Norwegian and Swiss-German. However, the working language will be English and Norwegian and the au pair will have the possibility to attend a Norwegian class in order to become familiar with the Norwegian language and culture. We are looking for an au pair that will be with us for at least one year and that can start her job at our place as soon as possible.

We travel to Switzerland quite often to visit family and friends. The au pair is wished to join us on these and other journeys.
