Au Pair's Message to Families
Dear Host family,
My name’s Marine and I’m 19 years old. I live in France, in a village called Hirtzbach near Strasbourg. I’m an only child and half-time live with my dad and the other with my mom. My relationship with both of them is great. We do lots of things together like going for a walk with my dog or doing motorbike etc. My father, Roger, is an employee and my mother, Valérie, is looking for a job in the moment. My father has four sisters and brother. I've grown up with all my family around me. I’m really close to them especially my grandma and my cousins. We can say that we are a united family. For my part, I graduated with a scientific degree in 2007 and then graduated a 1-year ‘arts of show’ degree in Strasbourg. During that year, I lived with my 2 best friends: Estelle and Marie. I really enjoyed this experience because I evolved a lot; now, I’m really independent, mature, responsible and I’m sure that I can get through all situations because I know that I am really flexible and I can adapt myself to all situation. That’s why I feel ready for the ‘Au Pair’ experience. I decided to be an Au Pair girl because I think it’s a beautiful experience. Indeed, my first motivation is the children! I love them. They have joy of life, are funny, and they are the future. That’s why it's important to have a good environment that I am able to give. Children bring me a lot, they make me smile, give me the will to do better, to grow up, to progress, and I give them the manners with fun, and grow up nicely : it's an exchange. If you want, I could teach French to your children (but not speak French all the time). I have a lot of experience with the children. For the past 3 years, I took care of Julie, one of my mother’s friend cute little girl. She is 6 years old now, so she was 3 when I first looked after her. I used to take care of her once a week: prepare her meals, give her a shower, and put her to bed. Julie is the pretty girl’s stereotype: she loves get dressed and change clothes every 2 hours! We spent time playing, drawing or just going outside for a little walk to the park and kindergartens. I occasionally took care of her young sister Emily (aged of 1 year old when I began), but it was only for 1 or 2 hours because she was most of the time with her mother due to the nursing. I also have some basket-ball teacher diplomas .During 3 years (2004-2007) I coached my own team. The team was composed by girls aged between 7 and 11 years old. I love to teach them my knowledge. We shared very good moments. I also worked in a basket-ball camp during the 2006 October’s holidays. I love being surrounded by kids, I help to release my mind from the reality that is sometimes too serious. I also have a little cousin named Lucas aged 10 with whom I spend a lot of time. We play basket-ball and video games. I love being with him because he’s enthusiastic and funny like me. I now really fell like traveling too, and I am pretty excited by this adventure. Especially part of it is to go to the US! I’ve always been attracted by the American culture. I’m very curious and open-minded I love discovering different cultures, people, countries, way of life and way of thinking… It would also be a chance to improve my English! Last summer, I went to New York for 5 days and I realized that it was too short! So, I wish to stay in the USA for 1 year, at least! I really would like to become part of a family I could consider like my own, and become a ‘big sister’ for your children as well. By sharing our own experiences, we could learn so much from each other. I love to travel even though I can’t enjoy it as much as I would like. Now, about me… I’m a sociable person, very dynamic, positive, and very funny but I’m also attentive, serious, responsible and you can have faith in me. I’m creative and always in a good mood. On my spare time, I love to watch TV, movies and series, go out with my friends, go to the theater or cinema, read, play video games or spend time on my computer, listen to music and the most important, laugh! I love sports too, especially basket-ball that I practice since I was 8. I love extreme sensations like roller coasters…. After this year in the US, I am not sure yet of what I am going to do but I am thinking of studying English. I am more and more considering becoming an English teacher because it will be a good balance between my love for the children and my love for the English language. I am convinced that we will spend one awesome year together. I am easy to get along with and I'm sure I will be a great ‘Au Pair’. I cannot wait to meet you.
P.S: I am with Euraupair and can only work with families with that agency...
Warm regards Marine =)
