Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear host family

My name is Thauane and I'm from Praia Grande, a beautiful small town on the coast of São Paulo State. I have one brother, his name is Elio and he's 19 years old and one sister, her name is Victória and she's 11 years old. My mother's name is Silvia, she's 42 years old and she's a secretary. My father's name is Elio, he's 42 years old and he own a small business. My parents are divorced, my sister was born from my father's second marriage and she's a precious gift, I love her too much! I always take her to the beach, shopping malls, parks, biking around town etc. I always take my cousin Gustavo, who is 11 years old too.

On the weekends I always go to my grandparents, where my family gets together. We always have a good time. I go to the beach and to the movies with my cousins and my sister. We ride our bikes. We always go to our country house. We are a very close friend. We spend holidays, birthdays and other dates together.

My parents are separated since I was seven years old. I live with my mother but my father has always been present in our education. ( My brother's and mine ).

I did one year of biochemistry at college but I had to stop. I work with my father. I'm a secretary at his beauty parlor.

I like to study and read. I like sports such as: swimming, roller-skating, cycling and hiking on the beach or in a park. I enjoy teaching and I'm very patient, honest, responsible, happy and caring. I've had a driver's license for over 1 year. I drive quite often and I have experience driving with children in the car.

I think that working with children is amazing and rewarding because they never hide what they really feel. I already took care of 2 girls, 2 years old each Camille and Larissa. They are lovely. I also took care of a 4 years old girl, named Giovana. I used to bathe her and feed her. I played with her, and gave her love and care, what is more important than anything else.

I found the Au - Pair program a grat opportunity to improve my English and my self-improvement. Living with a family from a different culture is sure to be a great learning experience and it would also be wonderful taking care of children. As an au - pair I'll dedicate myself to my job and my studies.

I'm looking forward to meeting my host family and being part of it. I'm sure I'll have an unforgettable year.
