Dear Host Family,

My name is Aurélie and I'm 22 years old. I live in France . I've gone to the University in order to do a degree in Spanish. I studied English for 8 years before the University and I'm conversant in this language. I think that I'm a shy girl but nevertheless sociable who loves to discover new people and new things. I'm funny and I think that it's better to laugh of things. I'm responsible and meticulous and I 'm serious when it's necessary. I'm energetic and enthusiastic. I think that I'm a sensitive and tolerant person, I'm hard-working and willful.

I love children and take care of them. I think that I've got a good contact with children generally. I enjoy children and helping them grow and develop. I want to discover and to integrate a new culture, another country, another way of life and way of thinking. I'm curious about everything and I think that it's very important to know another society and others people with different horizons in order I want to sharing my culture and tradition to my host family and try to be considering like a member of this family.

With regard to my childcare experience I've got my Certificate for activity leaders in a holiday camp since 2005. I worked during two summers (2004 and 2005) in an outdoor center and I took care of children who are between 4 and 12 years. I made a deepening training course about young children (4-6 years) in order to, for example, adapt games and activities to them. My Certificate and my experience in an outdoor center have allowed me to learn and share with children sociological and educational activities like songs and others activities on songs, the making of simple musical instrument like whistle or panpipes and the creation of kites for example. Then, we made simple cakes together. I read stories and tales to children and helped them to create their own stories. We made also expression activities like mime, music and movement and we create masks and puppets. There were numerous the parlour games and the board games but also the outside games with children. I remember that I prepared for them a treasure hunt. Often I made painted and drawing with them. We made sometimes with the outdoor center sorties in other village to visit and to play. I learned with this experience how it's possible to adapt the activity to the environment and to the child in order to answer at best to what he's waiting. Finally, the training course to obtain my Certificate permits me to have some elementary knowledge in child legislation, hygiene about meal, pace and sleep or health and security like, for example, what course of action shall we take for the first emergencies.

Except for this experience, I helped my mother who was child caregiver between 1997 and 2002 when I was 11-16 years. She took care of a boy from is 3 months to his age of 5 years and a girl during is forth year. Sometimes I kept an eye on them and often I played with them at football or others games with balls. We made hide-and-seek or drawing and jigsaws. Then, often I gave to Valentin the bottle-feed or helped him to eat. He has some problems to speak and a little backward for his age. We developed a very good rapport and reached to communicate in spite of this little handicap.

From time to time, I helped one of my friend who have a little girl named Bryanna and who is 3 years old. With her I make games, read stories or make drawing and sometimes we go together to the swimming-pool. Bryanna, his mother, my best friend and me spent one day in a safari and amusement park in order to Bryanna and us had a good time.I love this girl that I know since she was born and she gives me a sweet nickname to show me her affection.
