Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear family! I am 21 years old girl from Slovakia and I am looking for a family in USA for one year, the best area for me is Illinois. I was working in Michigan in the summer 2010 and last summer I joined the work and travel program and I was working in Chicago, so I found a lot of friends around. Let me introduce my family a little bit. I live with my parents and brother in capital city - Bratislava, but every sunday we are going to grandparents for a lunch like a family tradition, what is really nice. My brother is 6 years younger than me, so here starts my first care of a child :) you can say i was only 6 years old when he was born, but i learnt very fast how to behave to babies and here is the base of my responsibility. I am the oldest one from children in our family (i mean the cousins and relatives), so usually i am responsible for everyone. And i can say everytime i like to take care of them. And my family can see it. Im used to be very creative and i always like to invent new games with them. Besides this I have a lot of hobbies. For example winter and summer sports, I enjoy every part of year, if it is winter to play with snow, do snowboardnig or skiing, nice weather in spring, fall, or water games and sports in the summer. More of my hobbies are for example traveling, dancing, reading the books, or playing piano. I like to learn foreign languages, actually i like to learn everything what is new for me and get new skills :) What i like the most and what i consider as my dream job is working as an au-pair, taking care of children, and share with them the happiness and fun what we have together. I was taking care of children in few families, already when i was 12 years old i looked after 1-2 years old child of one friend of our family. This was only for couple of hours per day. Later i started to work as a babysitter in Slovakia. I took care of 2 children, starts with half year and the other one was 6 years old. I was taking care of them, when i had time, coming from school. This finished like 2 years ago, but everytime the family needs me, just gives me a call. Later i found another family with only one child. I can say, when there is a time i dont take care of any children I kind of miss it. And because I am patient, very creative and the taking care of children do make me happy, the kids can see it and everytime when i was coming back to them they were happy. In the summer 2010 i worked in summer camp in Michigan and because I am not a citizen of any english speaking country I couldnt work straight with children but I was hepling to make children have a great time in camp. Since this time I visited Chicago and USA few times, so I am getting know better all the places overthere and I really like it so much. The biggest benefit of this program is that i can work with children and at the same time be in USA, which i found out is amazing country and I would like to get more skills with children, because this is what i always wanted to work like. From my last experience in America I can see all people are so nice, I like so kind people and America as a country fascinates me in all ways.
