Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Host Family,

My name is Kathleen Grace, 22 years old. I took up Nursing Course. After I graduated, I got my first job as a volunteer nurse in Cauayan District Hospital, Philippines.

I come from the family of 6, my father Loreto, 52 years old is a branch manager, and mother 49 years old is a collector supervisor. They are both early retired. My eldest sister, Kate is working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. My youngest sister, Katrina is studying in National University with the course of BS in Nursing. Lastly, our only brother Loreto II is now graduating in high school. I regularly help my mother with housework I usually stay at home when I don’t have work. I really enjoy this job, because I love looking of children. I like to cook tasty Filipino dishes. My mother has taught me and molded me to become a good au pair/helper.

I have extensive experience related to childcare and house hold chores, but also with taking care of myself, specially being so far from home. I am currently working and taking care of 1 lovely kid. Her name was Sophia 6 years old kid. She is so adorable. I like to dress her up just like a Barbie doll. We both love to sing so when I’m with her we always sing. We had a lot of fun. I have no words to describe how wonderful the family are. I was basically responsible for them and their day to day activities. Sending the kid to and from school and other activities, washing, ironing, cleaning every part of the house, cooking breakfast and dinner, helping with kid homework, play with her, take her to the Museums, Playground, Cinema Hall, prepare/fix their meals and snacks. bathing the kid in the morning as well as in the evening and put her to bed. And prepare her school uniform for the next day.

I have dreamed of spending 2 years in Europe and working as an au pair, while I am still young and free. I hope you can help me to make it happen, by living as part of your family. I love children. I can help to take care of your children in exchange for the rich experience of living as a treasured "big sister".

As I join in your family's life and chores, I realize that even the simplest of your family activities, a trip to the market or walk through the neighborhood, will help me to learn more about Europe.

Just thinking of the rewards of 2 years working in Europe, I will be delighted in the experience of forming a deep relationship with your children. I can practice your own language in the most natural way, by using it every day with your family. By the time I leave, it will seem like I've been speaking your language all my life. :)
