Au Pair's Message to Families

Hi Fiona, my name is Hannah, I'm an enthusiastic and sociable 18 year old looking to engage with and help a child-involved family for an extended period of time. I am born and bred English, currently based in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, I'm grammar school educated and have a keen interest in childcare and children with special needs, as wells as singing, playing the acoustic guitar, mathematics, English literature, art and animals. I really enjoy spending time with young children, including in the ourdoors- I'm fit and healthy and enjoy walking aplenty.

I am used to a busy family life- I have been living with my lovely fiancé’s family- the Savidges- for six months- including his four younger siblings, and I would certainly call them hands-on! Peri-ann is fifteen and autistic, and I am helping her to learn to play the guitar. Ella is thirteen and a cheerful, gossipy teenager. Harry is eleven and heavily brain-injured, Joe-joe is five and bright and hyperactive- he likes beating me at video games and running around all day. Most days, my fiancé’s niece and nephews are also running around the house- Charlie, eight, Maisey, five, and Luca, three, may try their best to be a nightmare, but are definitely a source of boundless excitement, and I have spent a lot of time and sweat entertaining them! The household also holds a lot of pets- thirty birds, chickens, five dogs, eight cats, hamsters and fish. I love arts and crafts, painting and creating things with younger kids, so be prepared!

I can easily put together meals for the kids, keep them entertained and enjoy joining in with all of their games and activities, be it trampolining in the garden or playing at pirates. I am experienced with ironing, laundry work, dishwashing, and washing by hand. I can tidy and complete other general housework tasks as requested- and am used to tidying up after messy kids and my own paperwork-messy father! I have years of child sitting experience of my own younger sister (five years my junior), the Savidge children, and my partner’s nieces and nephews.
