Au Pair job description
Kim & I are 47 and 43 and our two boys are Jack - 21/2yrs and Sam 15 months old. We are late starters having a family, so life can be very busy, and sometimes hectic, but we make it fun!. We are fortunate to have two great little boys who little characters and great mates.
Kim works long hours for a large Company close to home and I am now working full time at a nearby Golf Course until July 2012.
Our household are all early risers and generally early to bed. We do have routines regarding the boys behaviour, bedtime, meals etc, but everything seems to change the whole time as their needs change. We want our children to grow up with the same respect and hard working ethics we have, but ensure we all have fun along the way!!
The boys love the Summer outside, in the sandpit, under the sprinkler, walking to see the goats, cows and horses. Toys and DVD's are big favourites too!!
Both boys are little characters. Jack is toilet training at the moment. Yay, no more nappies!
The aupair will be solely responsible for the two boys and I do expect a few household chores done during the day when they are sleeping. (Generally two hours a day). You need to be able to juggle two busy children, keep them entertained, make them laugh, read stories, go for walks, be their friend.
You must have lots of energy, be active, use your own initiative, be tidy. You must have a drivers licence and be a confident driver. Jack goes to Kindy one day a week, but starts 2 days in March, so you must be able to drive. We will help you get use to the left hand side of the road!
It is a fulltime job - 7.30am - 5.00pm, so you will need to really enjoy children! Kerstin works Mon - Fri, 91/2 hours per day so gets paid for 47 1/2 hours per week. We pay our aupairs well as it is important to us that they do a good job.
We have an established network with other Aupairs in the area who get out and about every weekend. They all have lots of fun and are alwys planning dinners out, shopping, days at the beach etc.. I love cooking so do most of it, but love to be treated to a bit of Foreign cuisine. We expect you to join us as part of our family. the aupair wil have every weekend off, but there may be the odd babysitting job if you want to earn more money.
We are not big TV fans, more sociable and outdoors types. If you would like to become part of our family for a period of time, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards Dana, Kim, Jack & Sam
Family's Message to Au Pair
Dear au pair
Hi from warm sunny Hawkes Bay, the East Coast of the North Island February 2012 we need a new Au pair to replace Kerstin. If you are interested in city, country, beaches & wineries, then please read on
If you have a great cheerful personality, are capable, reliable, outgoing and a have genuine interest in children and want to become part of our fun "Kiwi" lifestyle then read on....
We live on 15 acres of land about 5-10 minutes from Hastings (population approx 55,000). Hastings does not have a public transport system available, therefore you will need to be confident to drive a car (on the left hand side of the road!) so you can get around during your free time and run Jack to Kindy.
