Au Pair job description
We are searching for an aupair to assist us with our 3 children, 2 boys currently aged 8, 7 and a girl who is almost 4.
We are looking for someone to start in August 2012. Our current aupair will leave end of June then we will be traveling in the US for July.
Right now the girl is in daycare from 8:30 until around 4:30. The boys are done with school between 2:00-3:00 pm. We need help primarily in the afternoons to manage the activity schedule. In addition, we'd like some help with household chores - light shopping, kids' laundry, cooking dinner for kids, occasional babysitting at night or on weekend. In total it would be 25-30 hours a week.
We are hands-on parents who are very involved and hoping to find a great au-pair who we can take into the family.
Family's Message to Au Pair
Dear Potential Au-Pairs:
Are you a match for our family? If so, let's connect!
We are looking for someone who is a NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER as we are raising our kids bilingually and want them to hear correct English. We would prefer an American or Canadian accent, but are open to other possibilities. At least basic German is required to qualify for the AuPair program in Germany. You must also be under 24 to get an Au Pair visa in Germany unless you are an EU citizen. Of course we will sponsor further German classes while you are here. The ability to also speak Greek would be a great bonus for us. We primarily speak German in the home.
About us... the mother is Greek, but raised in the USA and has lived for many years now in Germany. The father is German, but lived also many years in the USA. The kids speak English and German, but prefer German. They are also learning some Greek now. Mom is currently busy opening an English Learning Center for young children in Frankfurt.
We are an international family with a lot of influences but also very connected to German life and culture. We hope to find someone that would appreciate all aspects of our background and be eager to experience them all as part of our family. We have had 2 live-out nannies when the kids were small and have had 2 aupairs in the last 3 years.
We live in the city center in Frankfurt and would prefer a live-in au pair. Someone coming to live with us needs to like an urban setting (in other words, it is not quiet countryside!). We live on a main street near a transportation hub where you can catch the bus, subway, train or tram anywhere you need to go. There are cafes and shops on the next block and the school and nursery is just down the street. We have a large place for city standards as well as a big garden for relaxing and playing.
If you are fun, social, responsible, easy-going, flexible, independent and able to handle 3 active monkeys, then we look forward to hearing from you!
